Want to check out YouTube on your TV, PS3 or Wii? Well that’s in beta now and was announced on the official YouTube blog on Thursday 15th January 2009. The YouTube for Television website (only accessible through a PS3 or Wii) presents people with a user interface that is remote control friendly. According to the news, this will make watching YouTube on your television as easy and intuitive as possible with enlarged text and simplified navigation and is available internationally in over 12 languages.
As it is still in beta phase, there may still be a few problems experienced by users trying to watch YouTube from the browsers on their Sony PS3, Nintendo Wii console or on getting things working through a television set. These issues will surely be ironed out as feedback is given and in time this functionality will become more popular and streamlined worldwide.
As yet, this function is not available for the Xbox and it remains to be seen whether this will become available in the near future. Response to the news has been very mixed but most will welcome the fact that they will now be able to watch, share and enjoy their favourite videos on a Sony PS3, Nintendo Wii, or from the comfort of the living room and on the big screen TV.
